The DirecTV prices listed above are for DirecTV Stream. You can also get DirecTV Satellite, but we’ll go into the differences between the two later on.
You can also bundle all three products together (e.g. Fiber 200, Home Phone and DirecTV Entertainment). But this won’t save you any more money.
It should also be noted that none of these prices include taxes or other fees, of which there are a few to look out for.
My Recommend CenturyLink Bundles
So which of the above is best for which people? Here are my personal recommendations on the matter:
Best for high speed fans: Fiber 940 and Home Phone
If you feel the need for speed, the fastest you’ll be able to get with CenturyLink is 940 Mbps.
At nearly 1000 Mbps, that is very fast indeed. It’s not quite as quick as some other providers, but it will be more than enough for the vast majority of people.
I only really tend to recommend this kind of speed to businesses. Anything over around 300 Mbps would be enough for a small business, and 100 Mbps could happily serve an office of 15 or so people.
On the subject of businesses then, I recommend bundling it with a Home Phone plan. That way, all your employees or colleagues could also get unlimited phone calls on the job.
The price for this would be ‘from $110’ per month. But that could be higher depending on your location and whether you’re taking up multiple lines. You’ll need to reach out to CenturyLink directly to get an exact figure.
Best for TV lovers: Fiber 200 and DirecTV Premier
Realistically, most people aren’t going to need 940 Mbps at home. 200 Mbps is going to be more than enough for most families.
I found that it would be enough for 8 simultaneous 4K streams. And you could do just that with DirecTV Premier.
This is the top of the line TV service from DirecTV – it contains over 150 channels in its streaming form. Those channels include some premium names like HBO Max and SHOWTIME.
If you love TV, this package is unbeatable. It comes at a cost of $214.99 or $219.99 per month, depending on location.
Best for budgets: Fiber 200 and DirecTV Entertainment
The lowest priced plans for both internet and TV are Fiber 200 and DirecTV Entertainment. So if you’re looking to save money on your monthly outgoings but still get a great service, this would be the bundle to go for.
It would cost you $119.99 per month, and for that you would get 75+ channels and a more than sufficient internet speed for most families.
Best for seniors: Fiber 200, Home Phone and DirecTV Premier
You can get the complete package with ease at CenturyLink. Your landline, internet plan and TV will all be under the same bill, and that makes things a lot less complicated.
I recommend Fiber 200 as an internet speed as it’s more than enough for most people. DirecTV Premier is the premium TV package from DirecTV, featuring all the best channels. And of course, there’s only one landline package.
The total cost of this would be from $304.99 or $309.99 per month, depending on location.
CenturyLink Internet and Home Phone Plans
We’ve discovered that CenturyLink offers two Fiber plans and one Home Phone plan, but what do they entail? And what happens if you live in an area where you can’t get Fiber? Let’s find out.
Fiber
Fiber from CenturyLink is only available in a small percentage of the overall CenturyLink coverage map. But if you are in an area where it is available, you’re in luck. You get much faster speeds for a lower price.
Here are the plans available:
Internet Plan | Download Speed | Upload Speed | Price per month |
Fiber Gigabit | Up to 940 Mbps | Up to 940 Mbps | $65/70 |
Fiber 200 | Up to 200 Mbps | Up to 200 Mbps | $30 |
As I mentioned before, most families will be more than content with the Fiber 200 plan. Fiber Gigabit is only really recommended to business users, as it would be enough for around 15 people at the same time.
You can find out more about the availability of CenturyLink’s Internet services here.
Simply Unlimited
While CenturyLink tirelessly rolls out its Fiber coverage to as much of the US as possible, the rest of their customers will have to use their older DSL service, now called Simply Unlimited. Here’s a look at the speeds and prices available:
Download speed | Upload speed | Price per month |
20 Mbps | Up to 10 Mbps | $50 |
40 Mbps | Up to 10 Mbps | $50 |
60 Mbps | Up to 10 Mbps | $50 |
80 Mbps | Up to 10 Mbps | $50 |
100 Mbps | Up to 10 Mbps | $50 |
120 Mbps | Up to 12 Mbps | $50 |
140 Mbps | Up to 12 Mbps | $50 |
As you can see, the price is the same per month no matter which speed you get, and it’s still more expensive than Fiber 200.
That’s because CenturyLink simply offers you as fast a speed as possible from the selections above. You don’t get to pick the speed, it depends on the infrastructure in your area.
Generally, the more rural an area you live, the slower your internet speed is going to be.
It should also be noted that you won’t be entitled to as many of the perks Fiber customers get. You can find out more about that in our guide to CenturyLink Internet.
Home Phone
The other service CenturyLink offers is landline phone connections. CenturyLink offers a lot less information about this online as a) it’s not as popular as it used to be and b) the price varies depending on where you live.
To find out more about this, you’ll need to contact CenturyLink directly through their website.
CenturyLink & DirecTV: What’s the Deal?
Why have we been mentioning DirecTV when it’s actually a product of AT&T, not CenturyLink? Because they are official partners.
CenturyLink recommends DirecTV to its customers and allows you to purchase the services directly through their website, combining it with your Internet bill.
Can you actually save money by bundling these two products together? Well, no. The price you pay is simply one service plus the other. But it does make things easier for your billing to take them up together.
Here’s a look at the DirecTV plans you can bundle with CenturyLink anyhow:
Plan | Max price per month(Stream/Satellite) | Number of Channels (Stream/Satellite) | What You Get |
Entertainment | $69.99/$102 | 75+/165+ | All the best basic channels |
Choice | $89.99/$124 | 105+/200+ | Entertainment plus loads of sports and more |
Ultimate | $104.99/$154 | 140+/270+ | Choice plus movie channels |
Premier | $149.99/$209 | 150+/340+ | Everything you could want, including HBO Max, SHOWTIME, STARZ etc. |
CenturyLink & DISH: What’s the Deal?
You can also get CenturyLink Internet with DISH TV. This will not get you a better price but will simplify your billing.
Here are the DISH packages that you can combine with any CenturyLink internet or home phone plan.
