Frontier DSL Availability
Frontier digital service line (DSL) internet is available in these states:
Alabama | Arizona | California | Connecticut |
Florida | Georgia | Illinois | Indiana |
Iowa | Michigan | Minnesota | Mississippi |
Nebraska | Nevada | New Mexico | New York |
North Carolina | Ohio | Pennsylvania | South Carolina |

Wisconsin |
Before you say “he just copied/pasted the table” check out this image:
The purple is Frontier fiber to the premises coverage. And the red stands for DSL. California was a bad example. But most of Frontier’s supported states have way more red hexagons.
Thus, more coverage.

Frontier DSL & Fiber Internet Plans
Here are all Frontier’s internet plans:
Plan | Speed (DL & UL) | Price | Best for |
Internet | 6.0 Mbps | $28/mo. | Browsing Google |
Preferred Internet | 12-25 Mbps | $35/mo. | Streaming 720p HD video |
Premium Internet | 45 Mbps | $45/mo. | Streaming 1080p video |
Fiber 500 | 500 Mbps | $39.99/mo. | Online gaming |
Fiber 1 Gig | 1,000 Mbps | $75.99/mo. | Remote work & freelancing |
Fiber 2 Gig | 2,000 Mbps | $149.99/mo. | Home server management |
Business Fiber 500 | 500 Mbps | $49.99/mo. | 5 or fewer employees |
Business Fiber 1 Gig | 1,000 Mbps | $84.99/mo. | 5-15 employees |
Business Fiber 2 Gig | 2,000 Mbps | $149.99/mo. | 16-30 employees |
Despite the horrendous-looking speeds their digital service line (DSL) plans provide, those speeds will prove sufficient for text- and image-based online browsing.
They could also accommodate online gaming and 1080p FHD video streaming on up to 8 devices.
But their DSL plans include a $10 equipment rental fee. Their fiber plans provide equipment for free. I see no reason to choose DSL over fiber unless the latter isn’t available.
Unless folks in your home download many large files frequently, most households won’t need 500 Mbps download AND upload speeds. The 500 Mbps upload speeds would allow up to 50 people to livestream on Twitch simultaneously.
If you’re a business, you’ll love these speeds. 500 Mbps could support more than 10 point of sales (POS) systems, cloud security cameras, and video calls running simultaneously.
Bars, restaurants, cafés, offices, clinics, and other small businesses should have all their needs met with the 500 Mbps plan. Online-based companies should consider the 1- or 2-gig plans.
Your choice depends on how frequently team members upload and download files. For managing servers or often backing up files, pick the 2.0 Gbps plan. Businesses whose staff downloads frequently, but doesn’t manage servers, will want the 1 Gig.
Let’s see whether Frontier provides fiber television services.
