Spectrum Bundles: Internet, TV, Voice, & Mobile

Spectrum doesn’t offer discounts when bundling its residential and business phone, TV, and landline services. They will offer discounts when bundling cellular services with home internet. Read on to learn more.

Bundles help people get the most value out of providers. I compiled a bunch of information to help you determine whether Spectrum’s bundles are any good.

Throughout this guide, you’ll find the following:

Read on to learn more.

What You Get With Spectrum Bundles

Here’s what you’ll get when bundling Spectrum’s services:

Home internet:

  • No data caps
  • Free antivirus software
  • Free modem
  • Hundreds of thousands of Wi-Fi hotspots
  • Access to Spectrum Mobile

Cable television:

  • Spectrum TV app (live TV streaming)
  • 125+ channels (including HD)
  • Various channel package options

Landline:

  • Unlimited calling in Canada, Mexico, and the United States
  • No additional fees
  • 28 calling features

Mobile:

  • Some of the best 4G LTE coverage nationwide
  • Access to many phone models

Spectrum won’t give you discounts when bundling their residential landline, TV, and home internet services. Besides the new customer pricing.

That seems like such a standard gimmick nowadays that I don’t count it as a discount.

Anyway:

You will get a nice bonus when bundling their mobile and home internet services. I’ll talk about this promotion later.

Spectrum Internet, TV, & Voice Bundles

The following sections will cover all available Spectrum bundles.

Spectrum Double Play Bundles

Spectrum doesn’t have per se “Double Play” bundles, but they allow you to bundle their TV and internet. Or landline and internet.

Here are the available Double Play bundles:

BundleNew Customer PriceStandard PriceBest For
TV Select + Internet$108.98/mo.$154.98/mo.Many channels & <15 devices streaming 4K
Mi Plan Latino + Internet$89.98/mo.$129.98/mo.Spanish-language channels & <15 devices streaming 4K

Internet Gig + Voice$109.98/mo.$134.98/mo.Landline & 20+ devices streaming 4K
Spectrum Double Play bundles compared.

Any of these bundles also gives you access to the Spectrum One bundle. I’ll cover the details in a bit. In short, it gives you a free mobile line and wireless router rental free for a year.

The standard prices for the TV bundles are a bit ridiculous. What if I told you there’s a way to get a cheaper TV plan with an internet and voice bundle?

Usually, when you get an internet-only plan, Spectrum will also offer TV Essentials. But for some reason, nothing happened when I went through the checkout process with the TV and Voice bundles.

Call Spectrum’s sales department at 855-366-7132 between Monday–Friday, 8 AM–10 PM Eastern Time (ET). Then ask them the following:

“I’m interested in getting a Spectrum Voice and internet (or Internet Ultra) bundle. Am I able to also get TV Essentials?”

Hopefully, they can help. It’s a fantastic deal.

TV Essentials offers 60 channels you can stream through your laptop, smartphone, or other devices. It gives you cable(ish) television without the cable TV box.

Think of it like a streaming service.

And you’ll watch everything through the Spectrum TV app. I have a separate guide covering this app in more detail.

If your home doesn’t need a landline, consider getting only an internet plan. Then during the online checkout process, you’ll see the following popup:

Spectrum TV Essentials

You also get a free trial with it.

Let’s move on to bundling internet, TV, and voice.

Spectrum Triple Play Bundles: TV, Voice, & Internet

Spectrum doesn’t have bundles labeled as “Triple Play.” Most customers may recognize Triple Play as having landline, TV, and home internet. Spectrum offers those bundles.

Here’s what’s available:

BundleNew Customer PriceStandard PriceInternet Speeds (DL/UL)
TV Select + Internet + Voice$129.97/mo.$174.97/mo.300/10 Mbps
Mi Plan Latino + Internet + Voice$109.97/mo.$149.97/mo.300/10 Mbps
TV Select + Internet Ultra + Voice$149.97/mo.$194.97/mo.500/20 Mbps
Mi Plan Latino + Internet Ultra + Voice$129.97/mo.$169.97/mo.500/20 Mbps
Spectrum Triple Play bundles compared.

I can’t recommend Triple Play bundles in good faith UNLESS you must use Spectrum’s voice service. It’s a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service that uses the internet to make calls [1].

They charge $60 for a battery backup unit. A device that gives you the means to use your landline during a power outage. While that’s better than monthly pricing, it’s still expensive.

I can recommend Spectrum’s mobile services, though. See why in the next section.

Spectrum Mobile & Home Internet Bundles

Spectrum has a single bundle for their cellular services. It’s Spectrum One. Here’s how it works.

Get any Spectrum Internet-only plan and receive a free year of Advanced WiFi and 1 Spectrum Unlimited line. You save $5.00 monthly from the router rental fee. And $29.99 a month for the single Unlimited line.

You only pay the new customer rate for your internet plan.

Here’s a table illustrating what you’ll pay once your first year passes:

TierPromo. PriceStandard PricePercentage Increase
Internet 300 Mbps$49.99/mo.$109.98/mo.75%
Internet 500 Mbps$69.99/mo.$129.98/mo.60%
Internet Gig$89.99/mo.$149.98/mo.49%

Spectrum One bundle price after a year.

The ‘Standard Price’ column represents prices after 12 months for your internet plan, the Unlimited price, and the Wi-Fi router rental.

You could attempt to negotiate with Spectrum’s retention department. See if you can convince them to give you new customer rates again. Research suggests that it’s possible. I have a link later in this guide to a guide that’ll talk about negotiations.

Get a third-party router once the first year passes and scratch the $5.00 rental fee off your bill. But you’ll need help finding one. Use our guide on finding the best Spectrum modem, gateway, or mesh Wi-Fi router.

I can’t help you lower the Unlimited line price. I haven’t found any success stories claiming to have reduced these fees.

Read these next sections if you’re having trouble deciding on a bundle.

Best Spectrum Bundles for Different Groups

The following sections will show the best Spectrum bundles for different groups of people.

Best Spectrum Bundles for Seniors

Read on to find the best Spectrum TV, internet, landline, and mobile bundles for seniors. I’ll cover pricing, who the bundle’s best for, and what each bundle will include.

TV Select + Internet + Voice: Best for Landline Users

This Triple Play(ish) bundle will cost $129.97 monthly for the first 12 months. This gives you the following:

  • Over 50 ad-free music channels
  • 125+ cable and local channels
  • 300/10 Mbps (DL/UL)
  • Internet calling
  • Over 28 calling features: a couple include speed dial and blocking international calls

This cost doesn’t include taxes or other fees. And this bundle doesn’t come with a contract.

Only get this bundle if you want to use Spectrum’s landline service. Otherwise, it doesn’t offer the most value. You must pay an additional $5.00 monthly if you want international calling. And another one-time $20 fee for the battery backup unit.

The backup unit is the only reason I can justify getting landline services in our time. Since they give you a backup way to call people during a power outage.

Once you’re on the plan for 12 months, you’ll pay $174.97 monthly.

TV Select + Internet: Most Affordable

TV Select and Internet gives you 300/10 Mbps internet speeds and more than 125 channels for $108.98 a month. It’s $154.98 after the first year.

300 Mbps download speeds should accommodate most of your home’s online needs. So long as you stick to streaming videos on YouTube, Netflix, and similar platforms. You’ll also do fine with downloading small files in under 20 minutes.

The upload speeds aren’t the best, though. 10 Mbps upload speeds would allow you to run 2 security cameras simultaneously. Each 1080p camera usually requires 4.0 Mbps upstream bandwidth [2].

If your household runs more than 2 security cameras, I can’t justify getting any Spectrum Internet plan. You’d need to find a plan with higher upload speeds. We compared internet providers in a separate guide.

Spectrum One: Best for Getting Affordable Cellular Plans

Spectrum One gives you an Unlimited mobile line and a router rental free for a year. This bundle’s available with any internet-only package (or bundle).

Once the year passes, you’ll pay more.

You’ll love this bundle if you want to try Spectrum Mobile for a year and don’t have enough money to rent a Spectrum Wi-Fi router.

I’ll talk about this bundle more later.

Best Charter Spectrum Business Bundles

The following sections will cover the best Spectrum small business bundles. Find pricing and what each bundle includes.

Entertainment TV + Internet + Voice: Best for Restaurant Owners

Pay $89.97 a month and get the following perks:

  • 2-year price guarantee
  • Spectrum TV app
  • 85+ channels: examples include ESPN, NFL, & FS1
  • 300/10 Mbps internet speeds (download/upload)
  • Thursday Night Football
  • Free modem & email addresses
  • Free long-distance calling

I can’t find the standard rate for this bundle.

But you’ll want this bundle if you own a restaurant or a café and want to entertain guests. However, you won’t want to let people on your Wi-Fi network.

With such low upload speeds, you’ll have no bandwidth for point of sales systems or cloud-based security cameras. Also, converse your download speed for streaming TV channels over the Spectrum TV app.

You’ll need at least 10 Mbps downstream bandwidth per TV you stream through. And each television will require a smart device.

600 Mbps Business Internet + Voice: Best for Offices (<20 Employees)

This bundle will cost $69.98 for the first 12 months and gives you access to 600/35 Mbps internet speeds. The bundle’s useful for offices that want to utilize Voice Over Internet (VoIP) software and have decent download speeds.

You’ll also get a free domain and custom email addresses for that domain. Woohoo. Not really, though.

They say it’s $50 in value. But I’ve found domain registrars (e.g., Namecheap) that offer much better deals. And likely better account security.

Why less than 20 employees?

Because of team calls. 35 Mbps upload speeds can’t support many simultaneous online calls. For instance, Zoom.

For a 1080p group call, each device would need 3.0/3.8 Mbps (download/upload) [3]. Only 9 devices could simultaneously participate in full HD group meetings.

Current Spectrum Deals

Deals you’ll find with Spectrum’s services include:

  • Up to 40% off for new customers
  • Free 12-month Peacock Premium subscription for TV customers
  • Up to $500 in bonus trade-in credit when trading in old phones
  • Free 90 days of a Peacock Premium subscription for internet customers
  • $500 contract buyout
  • $250 off a Google Pixel 6a

Spectrum doesn’t offer discounts or plans for seniors, military personnel (and veterans), nurses, or first responders. But that may change someday.

Who knows.

To keep yourself updated, keep an eye on our Spectrum deals page.

Spectrum Home Internet Packages Compared

Internet Gig$89.99/mo.$114.99/mo.26 ms1,000/35 MbpsFrequent large file downloads
Charter Spectrum home internet plans compared.

Every Spectrum Internet plan gives you a free modem and antivirus software. The latter isn’t important. Because it’s only available for Windows operating systems and doesn’t serve as a viable alternative.

None of Spectrum’s internet plans have a hard data cap. Use data to your heart’s content without worrying about data overage charges.

Use any of their hundreds of thousands of Wi-Fi hotspots. So long as you find a Wi-Fi network named ‘Spectrum.’ These access points give you access to Wi-Fi when you’re traveling or escaping from your home.

Learn more about it in a separate piece.

Spectrum Internet customers can also unlock the means to pay for a Spectrum Mobile plan. While that’s strange wording, it’s the most affordable and reliable mobile provider I’ve seen.

Learn why.

Spectrum Mobile Cellular Plans Compared

If you’re getting the Spectrum One bundle, see all the options they offer first:

TierPriceSoft Data CapMax. Speed After Exceeding Cap

Charter Spectrum Mobile plans compared.

Since the Spectrum One bundle only applies to Unlimited, that’s the plan I’ll cover in this guide. See my Spectrum Mobile overview for more information on other plans and their coverage.

All Spectrum cellular plans use Verizon towers to deliver service. And they’re known for having excellent 4G LTE coverage. Even in rural areas.

Unlimited doesn’t have a lower price when you add more lines. But $29.99 monthly for a single line is competitive. Especially when compared to getting a Verizon plan with less than 5 lines.

The soft data cap, as with any mobile provider, sucks. You’ll get lower speeds once you burn through your allowance. But the free Wi-Fi access points will help you conserve data.

Otherwise, Spectrum Mobile allows you to bring your own phone and supports eSIM.

Moving onto television services.

Spectrum Residential Television Packages Compared

Here are Spectrum cable TV packages to compare:

TierPromo. PriceChannelsBest For
TV Select$59.99/mo.125+Cable & local channels
MI Plan Latino$39.99/mo.145+Access to Spanish channels
Spectrum TV Select + Latino View$71.99/mo.200+Spanish- & English-language channels
TV Choice$44.99/mo.100+Cable TV channels
TV Basic$9.99/mo.65+Budget
TV Essentials$24.99/mo.60+Value
Charter Spectrum cable TV plans compared.

Spectrum TV Choice and Basic look tempting, but don’t get your hopes up. I only found information regarding these packages on 2 pages [5]. You must call their customer service to ask whether these packages are available in your area.

Or if they offer them at all.

All Spectrum plans also include up to 50 non-commercial music channels. Great for playing in the background while you clean your home.

But you MUST rent a cable TV box. Whether it’s their in-house TV box. Or the Apple TV 4K. Both cost $9.99 monthly.

The only way out of paying the monthly subscription is to get TV Essentials. It’s a TV livestreaming service that costs $24.99 monthly and includes 60 channels. Only Spectrum Internet customers can get it.

If you’re shopping online for Spectrum plans, buy your internet product like normal. Eventually, you’ll see this popup:

Spectrum TV Essentials

This is one of the few times I recommend buying something a pop-up offers. There’s also no broadcast TV fee.

But you’ll need the internet to run everything. Since it’s a streaming service. But Spectrum doesn’t specify the speed you’ll need. They suggest in a blog post that you’d need 10 Mbps download speeds to stream 1080p FHD [6].

Use that as a benchmark. And also, all their internet plans can allow 10 or more people to stream on their devices with these plans simultaneously.

Anyway:

You’ll do all the streaming on the Spectrum TV app. An app that comes with all Spectrum television plans. And to use this app, you’ll need a smartphone, TV streaming box (e.g., Amazon Fire TV), or PC.

Check out a separate piece that covers the app more in-depth.

For now, check out the most vital part of any TV plan.

Spectrum TV Channel Package Add-on Options

Spectrum offers the following premium and international channel packages [7]:

International channelsPremium channels

India View PremiumSTARZ + STARZ Encore
Punjabi ViewCINEMAX
Jade World ViewThe Movie Channel
Korean ViewEPIX
Vietnamese ViewSHOWTIME

Spectrum TV international and premium channel packages.

These packages will vary by price. I cover more details in the link I mentioned regarding an overview of their television service.

Spectrum offers international channels in additional languages like German, Italian, Greek, and more. Apparently, you must contact Spectrum’s sales teams to add these.

I talk about the available specific channels, along with every other Spectrum channel, in a separate piece. Check it out to learn more.

Spectrum TV Sports Channel Packages & Add-ons

Compare these sports channels to see whether they’re worth justifying Spectrum TV [8]:

TV PackagePrice
Sports View$6.00/mo.
NHL Center ice$69.99
NBA League pass$99.99
Fox Soccer$10/mo.

Spectrum sports channel packages compared.

Fox Soccer gives you access to rugby, soccer, and other international sports. You’re not paying $10 monthly for just soccer. The NBA and NHL passes provide 40 high definition games each week.

The passes also require a one-time purchase (per season).

What’s Sports View?

It’s a channel package and includes the following:

ACC NetworkBTNBeIN SPORTS
ESPNEWSFOX Sports 2Golf Channel
MAVTV Motorsports NetworkMLB NetworkMLB Strike Zone
NBA TVNFL NetworkNFL RedZone
NHL NetworkOlympic ChannelOutdoor Channel

Spectrum TV Sports View channel lineup.

Some Spectrum TV packages include sports channels. But you’d need to visit the link I mentioned. It’s a channel guide that includes every channel available for each plan.

How Can I Lower My Spectrum Bill?

The best way to lower your Spectrum Internet bill is to buy a third-party router. Save money on your cable TV bill by switching to Spectrum TV Essential (live streaming TV service).

Does Spectrum Offer Discounts for Seniors?

Spectrum does not offer discounts or specific internet or mobile plans to seniors.

Wrapping Up

If you’re trying to wean off of cable TV and transition toward streaming platforms, Spectrum doesn’t offer many incentives to bundle. Research suggests that you’ll save more by getting an internet-only plan and getting add ons.

And the Spectrum One bundle (or promotion).

Don’t discount bundling their services, though. First learn more about every product they offer.
